Education Minister Paul Givan has today launched the Delivery Plan for the TransformED Strategy, a new initiative designed to reform and enhance education delivery across Northern Ireland.

The Delivery Plan translates the overarching vision of the TransformED Strategy into concrete actions, with a focus on key areas such as professional learning for teachers, curriculum reform, assessment methods, qualifications, school improvement initiatives, and addressing educational disadvantage.

The document clearly outlines the proposed approach, identifies key partners involved in the delivery, provides indicative timelines for implementation, and details associated costs for each action within the TransformED Strategy. Speaking at the launch, Minister Givan emphasised the significance of the new plan. "TransformED represents a break with what has gone before. I want to focus on investing in and supporting high-quality professional development for our school leaders and teachers and relentlessly improving curriculum, pedagogy and assessment," he stated.

He added: "Since the launch of the TransformED strategy work has been underway to finalise the Delivery Plan, which sets out a clear roadmap for the way ahead. The heart of education lies in the classroom and I believe this Plan will drive real and meaningful change across our education system."

Concluding his remarks, the Education Minister outlined his aspirations for the future of education in Northern Ireland. "Our aim is to ensure our education system is truly world-leading – one that is excellent, equitable, inclusive and responsive to the needs of all children and young people in a rapidly changing world. This ambitious reform programme has the potential to transform education in Northern Ireland for a generation."
