£1.5m Worth Of Drugs Seized In Dunadry Operation
Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's Organised Crime Branch have seized suspected Class A, B, and C drugs with an estimated street value of £1.5 million following a proactive search in the Dunadry area of County Antrim.
Officers recovered substantial quantities of cocaine, cannabis, prescription tablets, and ammunition during a search of a rural shed dwelling in the area today, Wednesday, 30th April.
Detective Inspector Conor Sweeney from Organised Crime Branch detailed the operation. "Supported by our Local Policing Team colleagues with assistance from Tactical Support Group and ANPR Interceptors, the drugs and drug-related paraphernalia have now been removed for forensic examination," he said. He added, "A related search was also conducted by officers at a premises in the nearby area, and our enquiries are continuing this evening."
Detective Inspector Sweeney emphasised the police's ongoing commitment to tackling illegal drugs. "We work relentlessly to tackle the supply, use and harm caused by illegal drugs and we will continue to do this to disrupt and prevent those involved in drug-related activity."
He appealed to the public for information. "We would ask anyone who may have information about drug-related activity in their community to contact us. Any information, regardless of how insignificant it may seem, could help make a big difference in tackling this type of organised crime and the harm it causes."

A 25-year-old man from County Tyrone has been sentenced at Dungannon Crown Court, after admitting to several drug-related offences. Conor McCann was handed a four-and-a-half-year sentence, with half to be served in prison and the remainder on licence.

A 43-year-old man has been arrested and £75,000 worth of Class B controlled drugs seized after the PSNI's Auto Crime Team stopped a vehicle on the M2 Motorway. Detectives from the Organised Crime Unit conducted a follow-up search of a property in the Newtownabbey area.
