Three Arrested In Loughgall Following Cross-Border Burglaries

Police have arrested three men in connection with burglaries that occurred in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland earlier this week.

The men, aged 46, 38, and 35, were detained at an address in Loughgall, County Armagh, on Thursday evening (1st May). They are currently being questioned by detectives regarding a burglary at a house on Madden Row in Keady, County Armagh, which took place on Wednesday, 30th April.

The suspects are also being held on suspicion of possessing stolen goods believed to have been taken during burglaries in County Monaghan on the same day.

A silver Mercedes car, suspected of being used during the incidents, has been seized by police for forensic examination.

Detectives investigating the burglaries are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have relevant dash-cam, doorbell, or other footage from the Keady or Loughgall areas on Wednesday or Thursday.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man Arrested Over Dissident Republican Activity
A 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dissident republican activity in Lurgan, County Armagh. He was taken to Antrim Police Station on Monday for questioning. Meanwhile, a 47-year-old-man has been released after being arrested in Lurgan on Saturday also of dissident republican activity.

County Armagh pensioner robbed in his home
Police in County Armagh have appealed for information following a burglary at the home of a pensioner on Thursday evening. A man aged in his 80's was at his home in the Ennis Close area of Lurgan, when three men broke into the property. The thieves ransacked the house, before making off with an undisclosed sum of money.
