Appeal For Information In North Belfast Murder Investigation
Detectives from the PSNI's Major Investigation Team have named the woman found dead at a house in the Shore Road area of north Belfast as 71-year-old Marie Green.
Police and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service responded to a report just before midnight on Monday 02 June. Ms Green was pronounced dead at the scene in the early hours of Tuesday 03 June.
A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody as enquiries continue. Detective Inspector Jennifer Rea, from the Major Investigation Team, extended her sympathies: "My thoughts are with Marie’s family and loved ones who are left trying to come to terms with their tragic loss."
Investigators are working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding Ms Green's death. Police are appealing for anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference 2020 of 02/06/25.

Renewed Appeal On 31st Anniversary Of Peter McCormick Murder
Detectives from Legacy Investigation Branch have issued a fresh appeal for information on the 31st anniversary of the murder of Peter McCormick. On 19 November 1992, the 42 year old former teacher from Drumena Road in Kilcoo, was shot dead when two gunmen burst into the Thierafurth Inn and opened fire on customers inside at around 9pm.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
