Starbucks opens its first Belfast coffee house

One of the world's most famous coffee franchises has opened its first café in Belfast today.

Starbucks Castle Lane is the second coffee house to be established in Northern Ireland following the opening of the company's Junction One café in Antrim.

Commenting on today's opening which is creating 24 new jobs, Cliff Burrows, managing director, Starbucks Coffee Company UK, said: "We’re delighted to be opening our first store in Belfast. This is an exciting, dynamic city with a vibrant café culture, and we’re looking forward to becoming part of the community here.

"We hope that the people of Belfast will become as passionate about the Starbucks Experience as we are – and enjoy great quality coffee in a comfortable, smoke-free environment."

Mr Burrows said Starbucks Castle Lane would be supporting local business by sourcing its produce locally including all milk, sandwiches and paninis.

It will also offer customer favourites include the Strawberries and Cream Frappuccino, the Skinny Blueberry Muffin, and the Sausage, Egg and Baked Beans breakfast panini as well as a range of ‘whole bean’ coffee for those who enjoy brewing coffee at home.

The 'whole bean' coffee range includes coffees from Latin America, Africa and Indonesia.
