Man Charged After Three Children Struck By Car In West Belfast
A 37-year-old man has been charged after three children were struck by a car in west Belfast on Sunday, 24 August.
The charges relate to a road traffic collision that occurred shortly before 5pm in the Black Ridge View area, where a car reversing on the pavement hit two girls and a boy.
The children were taken to hospital for treatment for injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. The man has been charged with several offences, including driving with excess alcohol in his breath and causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving.
He is also charged with failing to stop, failing to report, and failing to remain where an accident occurred causing injury.
The man is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court today, Tuesday, 26 August. Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage to contact them at Woodbourne on 101, quoting reference number 1201 of 24/08/25.
