SF MLA blames calf deformity on spy-post 'emissions'
Sinn Féin have blamed a British Army spy post in South Armagh for the birth of a calf with two heads.
Local people said they were convinced the calf was born with the deformity because of emissions from British Army equipment in the South Armagh area.
Sinn Féin Assembly member for Newry & Armagh Conor Murphy said he would be raising the case during discussions with the British and Irish Governments next month.
"Recently a calf born in South Armagh close to a British Army spy post had two heads," Mr Murphy said. "Local people are convinced that emissions from British Army equipment in the South Armagh area are causing cancer in both animals and humans.
"Instances of deformed livestock are becoming increasingly common in areas adjacent to British Army installations."
"Tony Blair can be rest assured that this continuing occupation will be on his talks agenda in September," he added.

Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.

Detective Sergeant Faulkner confirmed that officers attended the scene alongside the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, who successfully extinguished the blaze.
