Murder Inquiry Launched After Man Found Dead In Mountnorris

Police investigating the death of a man in Mountnorris on Thursday, 4 September have named him as Christopher 'Chrissy' Burns.

Mr Burns, aged 40, originally from the Warrenpoint area, was found dead at an address in Cusher Green after police received a report of concern for safety at around 11.30am.

Officers and colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the property, where they found Mr Burns with serious head and facial injuries.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Robinson said the Major Investigation Team's thoughts are with Mr Burns' family and loved ones.

A 39-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, remains in police custody as the investigation continues at pace.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101, quoting reference 573 04/09/25.
