Co Down woman to run marathon for Aids sufferers

A Co Down woman is to run the Amsterdam Marathon to help raise money for HIV/Aids sufferers in Northern Ireland.

Suzanne Hill will run the marathon, which takes place on October 17, in aid of Ulster charity AIDS2000.

She got involved with the charity after becoming personal trainer to its founder Colin Angus.

"I feel this is a very good cause and by running the marathon I hope to not only raise money for the charity but also more awareness in Northern Ireland about HIV/Aids," Suzanne said.

"The marathon in Amsterdam is now firmly established as one of the fasted in the world and is a perfect opportunity to enjoy a great race in one of Europe's top cities."

Suzanne is meeting the flights and accommodation costs herself in order raise as much cash as she can, every penny of which will be distributed throughout Northern Ireland.

Anyone wanting to sponsor Suzanne can reach her on 07884007181.
