FSB appeals for resumption of devolved government
As the political parties and the two governments restarted the talks process, Northern Ireland’s largest business organisation, the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), has urged all sides to go the extra mile to get agreement for a return to devolution.
Wilfred Mitchell, FSB Policy Chairman said that the assembly and other institutions offered the region "accountability and access to locally elected ministers" who know the local issues that affect the business community in Northern Ireland.
“Direct Rule has failed the business community over the past two years. Key issues such as water charges, insurance, electricity and rates have been badly handled by the direct rule administration," he said.
“Northern Ireland deserves more than just a handful of part-time direct rule ministers and unelected civil servants who wield far too much power and influence.”
Mr Mitchell urged all talks’ participants to ensure that the economy is high on the agenda.

Education Minister, Paul Givan, has announced the opening of online applications for the Targeted Early Years Pathway Fund for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 academic years. The Pathway Fund, introduced in 2016, aims to provide early years education services for children aged 0-4 who may be at risk of falling behind in their education.
