Gorbachev and Trump to address UU conference

Former leader of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev and US billionaire Donald Trump are to address a Belfast conference next month.

The conference, initially to be held on November 12 in the University of Ulster’s Jordanstown campus and organised by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), will see the world famous figures explain by videolink how they overcame their own challenges to win the day, despite being faced with major obstacles on a daily basis.

Gary Ince, chief executive of ILM, said that when people such as Mikhail Gorbachev and Donald Trump talk, it pays to listen.

"Leadership techniques are similar right across the globe as well as across business and government and this event will provide benefits to anyone interested in developing their own leadership brand and making a real bottom-line difference to their organization," he said.

Living Leadership 2004 Delivering Results is intended to provide insights into the thinking of Donald Trump, Mikhail Gorbachev, Jim Collins, Peter Drucker, Russell Simmons and Ken Blanchard.

The conference will be facilitated by David Taylor, European Business Speaker of the Year and author of the best-seller, The Naked Leader.

The conference will then move on to Edinburgh on November 17 and London on November 18.
