Mobile fuel laundering plant seized in south Armagh
A mobile fuel laundering plant has been seized during a joint police and customs operation in south Armagh on Tuesday.
The search, which was conducted under Customs and Criminal legislation in the Jonesborough area of the county, resulted in heavy goods vehicles and a number of counterfeit DVDs, CDs and fireworks being seized as well as several thousand litres of fuel.
Commenting on the operation PSNI Superintendent John Lawson, Operations Manager Rural Region said: “Tuesday’s Crime Task Force operation was targeted against organised criminal activity, the PSNI remain committed to bringing to justice, organised criminals in whatever form that activity takes and wherever it is being carried out.”
Superintendent Lawson advised any member of the public who has information on such activity and anyone with knowledge of organised crime can contact the PSNI or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

UUP Slams New PSNI Pilot Scheme
A new PSNI pilot scheme aiming to deal with people who leave petrol stations without paying for their fuel has been slammed by the Ulster Unionist Party (UUP). UUP MLA Jenny Palmer is calling for the new scheme, which has been introduced in Lisburn & Castlereagh and Ards & North Down, to be scrapped as soon as possible.
