Nitec Solutions provide IT jobs boost for Antrim

A locally owned IT firm is to create six new jobs thanks to a £1 million relocation investment.

Nitec Solutions Ltd have moved operations from their current Lisburn premises to Antrim as a result of a private investment by Nitec co-owners Nigel Mulholland and Peter McMahon.

Mr Mulholland said: “Our existing Lisburn premises had served us admirably since we began trading in 1998 but constant, steady growth has meant that we simply had to secure larger premises to allow the business to continue to flourish.

“The whole focus of the Technology Park makes it an ideal new home for Nitec and the move to Unit 9 gives us a five-fold increase in floor-space, allowing us to continue with our plan to grow the business further.”

Mr McMahon added: “It has been such a wonderful 18 months that it is difficult to pick out single events but the highlights have probably been the Microsoft European Networking Infrastructure Partner of the Year Award and the Federation of Small Businesses Northern Ireland Small Business Champions Award which saw Nitec represent the province at the recent UK finals.”

Congratulating the company on their move, Mayor of Antrim, Councillor Bobby Loughran, said Antrim Borough Council was the company had chosen to relocate to the Borough.

“The Technology Park is ideally placed to accommodate Nitec which is at the leading edge of information technology support services and the company will make a huge contribution to our aim to retain high quality jobs in the Borough,” he added.
