Broadcast technology firm to set up in Belfast
An American based broadcast technology company, Fighting Bull Broadcast Technologies (FBBT), is to set up a European software development office in Belfast creating 15 jobs.
The announcement follows on from the successful closing of a financing round in November last year.
Commenting on the development FBBT, Director and CEO Rick Bolin, said: "PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Cleaver Fulton Rankin have piloted us through a difficult but rewarding journey. We thank them for their leadership and appreciate the opportunity given to us here in Northern Ireland. Now it is time to focus on recruiting and operations."
In April 2003 FBBT signed a five-year cooperation agreement with the BBC. The latest development sees the Denver, Colorado, based firm building on this partnership with the BBC attracting US-based investors and local professional and private capital.
The company will launch the European software development operation in its Ormeau Road office in Belfast in January.
According to FBBT, the team will be responsible for developing a broadcast operational system support software package that will simplify skills training in the complex world of broadcasting leading to increased efficiency, resiliency and collaboration.
FBBT said that the Northern Ireland office would "grow as required" to address the requirements of the global broadcasting market.
