Belfast put forward as top-class conference venue

Belfast’s reputation as a unique, top-quality conference destination was highlighted this week when the Belfast Visitor and Convention Bureau (BVCB) promoted the city to key conference industry professionals in London.

Thirteen Belfast trade partners representing venues, accommodation, airlines and conference planners took the opportunity facilitated by BVCB to promote their services to around 180 London-based conference buyers.

Gerry Lennon, BVCB Chief Executive said: “Belfast is going from strength to strength in every conceivable way and no less so in the lucrative conference market. You only have to look at the number of high profile International organisations making Belfast their destination of choice to realise the high regard in which the city is held.

“This awareness and confidence must be maintained and our aim with the London showcase is to increase conference business to the city and beyond.

“This year’s event was judged to be a great success with positive feedback from both trade participants from Belfast and buyers and those attending from Belfast reporting up to fifty individual concrete leads.”

Events such as the London showcase are important in attracting new and repeat conference business and as an opportunity for BVCB and its members to build on Belfast’s reputation as a unique, top-quality conference destination,” Mr Lennon concluded.
