Woman sexually assaulted in Coleraine
Police are appealing for information following a serious sexual assault in Co Antrim at the weekend.
The female victim, believed to be in her early twenties, left licensed premises in the town centre around 1am on Saturday and walked towards the Windy Hall area, on the Newbridge Road close to Causeway Hospital.
As she crossed rough ground three men attacked her while one carried out the assault.
The male who assaulted the victim is described as around 25-years-of-age and of slim build. He had a shaved head, stubble, blue eyes and a broad nose with a mole on his left cheek and wore a pale blue shirt with dark trousers, a gold necklace and a gold sovereign ring.
Officers say the victim was left “extremely traumatised” by the ordeal and was treated in hospital for her injuries.
Anyone who was in the Windy Hall area of the town from midnight to 3am on Saturday, and witnessed any suspicious activity is asked to contact police at Coleraine on 028 7034 4122 or through the confidential Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.
