Security guard threatened in armed robbery
Detectives are appealing for information following an armed robbery outside a bank in Crumlin, Co Antrim on Monday.
At around 2.30pm a man, armed with a gun, approached a security guard as he was making a delivery to a bank at Main Street. The robber pointed the gun and demanded the cashbox before he fled in a waiting green or blue coloured saloon car. It’s understood the car headed off in the direction of the town’s clock tower.
The robber is described as being around 5’6” tall, well built with a light blue top and baseball cap.
Elsewhere on Monday, a woman was dragged from her 4x4 vehicle by hijackers in Co Down.
The incident occurred as the woman drove along the Knock Road in Katesbridge at about 10.30pm.
Police have appealed for anyone with information on either incident to contact them on 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

Man Charged With Armed Robbery
A man has been charged by police in connection with the armed robbery of a cash in transit van. The 46-year-old, who was carrying a gun, threatened a security guard during the raid on the Ormeau Road in September last year. The man is due to appear in Belast Magistrates' Court today. Two men and one woman have already been charged.

Armed robbery at Portstewart bank
Detectives in County Londonderry have appealed for information following an armed robbery in a bank earlier today. The incident happened at the Ulster Bank on The Promenade in Portstewart at around 10.30am, when the armed robber entered the branch and demanded that staff hand over cash.

Investigation Launched Following North Belfast Break-In
Police have launched an investigation after a man escaped injury following a break-in at a property in north Belfast. The incident happened at a flat on the Cliftonville Road at around 7.15am on Wednesday, 04 January. A man and woman armed with a baseball bat entered the property and searched all of the rooms. They then fled from the scene.
