Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival launched
The programme for the 6th Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival was launched today in Belfast.
Promising the very best in new theatre, comedy, music, literature, circus, street theatre, film, visual art and family events, this year’s festival will take place from 28th April to 8th May.
Artists from Ireland, England, Scotland, Japan, Turkey, United States, Canada, Cuba, China, Zimbabwe, Jamaica, Finland, Germany, Australia and France will entertain the crowds during the 10-day festival period.
Sean Kelly, Festival Director said: “With Belfast unfortunately gaining a reputation as a racist city we were determined that this would be our most culturally diverse programme ever.
“This is certainly the case, with a breathtaking number of nationalities represented in a festival which is bursting at the seams with a range of great arts events.”
The Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival has become one of Ireland’s premier platforms for new and established comedians and this year will feature some of the heaviest hitters in the business including Jack Dee and Father Ted star Ardal O’Hanlon alongside some less familiar names.
