Man suffers serious head injuries in Newry

Police are appealing for information after a man was found with serious head injuries in Newry's Corn Market at around 1am on Sunday.

The man was taken to hospital with a fractured skull and other injuries, but it is not known whether they were the result of an assault or a road traffic collision.

Police investigating the circumstances want to hear from anyone who may have been in Corn Market in Newry early on Sunday morning.

They have also appealed for the woman who called an ambulance to contact them on 028 3026 5500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A man has been left with serious head injuries following an assault in Newry. The 34-year-old was targeted at around 4pm on Saturday afternoon, 17 August, in the Daisy Hill Wood area of the city. He was taken to hospital for treatment to his head injuries.

Man Extradited From Ireland To Face Serious Charges
A 33-year-old man has been extradited from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland to face serious charges. The man is accused of assault causing harm, coercive control, contravention of a safety order, theft, and possession of a weapon. The alleged offences occurred in the Monaghan area between 2020 and 2021.
