Entrepreneurial spirit thrives in west
Over 900 people attended Invest NI’s Western Start a Business show at the weekend, the agency has revealed.
Patricia Devine of Invest NI’s Western Local Office said she was “delighted and very encouraged” by the interest displayed in entrepreneurship during Western Enterprise Week and the Western Start a Business Show in Omagh.
“The recently launched Global Enterprise Monitor (GEM) report shows that the level of entrepreneurial activity in the west is higher than both the Northern Ireland and the UK average, and we hope Western Enterprise Week and the Start a Business show will build on that,” she said.
“All the events which included workshops on employing migrant workers, renewable energy and franchising were well received and attended.
“With over 550 businesses started in the western region last year, we hope the events and all the help and advice available atthe Start a Business Show will encourage more people to ‘Go for it’ and help those who have to grow and develop.”
If you were unable to attend and want more information phone the ‘Go for it’ helpline on 0808 127 0000.
