Two motorcyclists die in separate crashes
Two motorcyclists have died in separate accidents on Northern Ireland’s roads in the last 24 hours.
In Co Antrim, a man died when his motorcycle was in collision with a car on the Doagh Road, Newtownabbey, shortly before 7.40am.
In an earlier accident in Bangor, a 19-year-old motorcyclist was involved in a collision with a van and was taken to hospital were he later died from his injuries.
His name has not yet been released.
Elsewhere in Co Down, two young girls were struck by a car close to the seaside resort of Millisle on Thursday.
The girls were walking along the Whitechurch Road between Millisle and Ballywalter when the driver of a car lost control and struck them. One of the girls, aged 11, remains in a critical condition in hospital while her eight-year-old sister is said to be in a comfortable condition.
The driver of the car was treated for minor injuries. Her vehicle was taken away for examination.

She had been left in critical condition after the collision, which saw three other teenage girls hospitalised after the Fiat Punto car left the road.

There were two road fatalities in Northern Ireland at the weekend. Along with a third road crash victim in Co Donegal this brings the death toll across Ireland to three in just 48 hours. Both of the victims in Northern Ireland were motorcyclists and the driver of a car lost his life in the Co Donegal crash.

Roads Service Ready For Winter Weather
Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd has confirmed that the Department's winter service team is prepared to tackle the current cold snap. Around 300 staff and 130 gritters are ready to salt main roads, while 12 snow blowers are available for deployment if necessary. To ensure a comprehensive winter service, the Department has allocated £3.

Roads claim six lives over the weekend
In a weekend of tragedy on the province's roads, six people are known to have died as a result of car accidents. On Saturday, Gareth Caldwell, a 38-year-old motorcyclist, died following a collision at Gortree Road, Drumahoe, Co Londonderry.
