Security guard robbed outside bank
Detectives in Newtownabbey have appealed for information after a security guard was robbed outside a bank at Abbots Cross in Whiteabbey on Thursday.
At around 9.30am the member of staff was making a delivery to a bank when he was approached by a man armed with a knife.
The robber threatened him before grabbing a cash box and making off in a waiting Vauxhall Astra van. The van was seen driving off at speed down the Doagh Road in the direction of the Shore Road.
The robber is described as being between 35 and 42-years-old, 5’6” to 5’9” in height with grey shaven hair. He wore a green checked lumberjack shirt.
Anyone who either witnessed the robbery or who saw a white Vauxhall Astra in the Abbots Cross area at around 9.30am is asked to contact detectives at Newtownabbey on 028 90650222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Funeral Held For Kieran McManus
A funeral is being held for Kieran McManus, the 26-year-old who was murdered outside a west Belfast pizza shop over the Easter weekend. Requiem Mass is being held at Holy Trinity Church in Turf Lodge. The PSNI is appealing for witnesses following the shooting, which occurred in the Kennedy Way area on the evening of Saturday 30 March.
