Child Support Agency launches outreach service
The Northern Ireland Child Support Agency has launched a new Outreach service which aims to improve service delivery through forming partnerships with client-based groups.
The initiative, based on research amongst its clients, will see trained staff work with client-based groups and employers across the province.
Commenting on the new service, Alan Shannon, Permanent Secretary at the Department for Social Development, said: "The Child Support Agency has had its share of criticism in recent years but this is an example of how it is trying to improve its communications and service. The Agency is totally committed to delivering a better service to parents and children and its efforts deserve recognition."
Barney McGahan, Chief Executive of the Agency, welcomed the positive findings from the research and emphasised that the Agency was determined to improve its service to customers.
"Feedback is a key way of improving our service. These partnerships will allow the Agency to identify and correct any shortcomings in the service we deliver to our customers," he said.
