Best condition still cause for concern
The condition of former Northern Ireland footballer George Best is said to have improved slightly overnight, his consultant said on Friday morning.
Professor Roger Williams said the former Manchester United star was still "a very sick man" but a change in medication overnight had proved positive.
"I don't want to go too far or raise too many hopes, but he is a little better than he was last night and naturally we think it is a result of the treatment," he said.
"It is small improvement, but nevertheless it is encouraging to see it. We go on treating day by day. He is a very sick man."
Best was admitted to Cromwell Hospital in west London three weeks ago, following a kidney infection.
However, his condition worsened on Wednesday evening after it was revealed he was suffering internal bleeding from the bowel.
Best had a liver transplant in 2002 which was a direct result of his many years of heavy drinking.
His current condition is not thought to be directly related to his problems with alcohol.

Man Dies In Portadown Road Crash
An 18-year-old man has died following a collision in Portadown. The crash happened on the Dungannon Road between midnight and 12.30am on Wednesday, 08 November. The road has been re-opened. Elsewhere, a man, aged in his 30's, has died in a road collision in Co Antrim.

Attempted Carjacking In West Belfast
Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in west Belfast on Tuesday, November 19th. At around 5:30pm, a man entered a parked car at Hillhead Court and attempted to steal it. A woman passenger was assaulted when she resisted the man's demands. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing all black, fled the scene on foot.

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.

Man Extradited From Ireland To Face Serious Charges
A 33-year-old man has been extradited from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland to face serious charges. The man is accused of assault causing harm, coercive control, contravention of a safety order, theft, and possession of a weapon.
