Yell launches telesales recruitment in Belfast
Leading international directories business Yell is currently recruiting for its new state-of-the-art telesales centre in Belfast.
The company is expanding its business in Northern Ireland with investment in a £8.5 million Belfast operation, which was officially launched in June this year.
Around 40 telesales consultants are currently employed in the centre, located in the Metro Building at Donegall Square South, and Yell is now embarking on the next stage of its recruitment process.
The company plans to expand the telesales operation in the next three years, with capacity for accommodating around 140. The centre is expected to become a key part of Yell’s UK telesales network, which currently employs more than 700.
The Belfast investment is supported by Invest NI which sees it as a major boost to the government’s drive to encourage more international companies to set up in Northern Ireland.
Professor Fabian Monds, Chairman of Invest NI, said: “The investment is a very significant endorsement of Northern Ireland as a base for companies working in telephone sales and marketing.
"This is a growth industry worldwide and is already providing well-paid jobs for people from all parts of the city and further afield. We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with Yell in the further development of this new centre.”
The current recruitment drive is seeking to find strongly-motivated sales consultants – particularly those with specialist knowledge of the online sales environment – and managers, to drive forward the work of the Belfast team.
Offering highly competitive salaries, Yell is also regarded as having amongst the best sales training in the UK. The company has a strong track record in nurturing and developing its people and has been recognised as an Investor in People (IIP) since 1997 and only two weeks ago was awarded Champion status - only one of 24 such organisations in the UK – by Ruth Spellman, Chief Executive of Investors in People.
