Rugby player dies during Ards game
A veteran rugby player who died during a rugby match at the weekend apparently took to the pitch to make up the numbers for the fixture.
David Rainey, 49, volunteered to play in the Ards thirds match, but collapsed and died during the game with Cooke.
A doctor who attempted to resuscitate the father of four was unable to revive him.
Ards Rugby Football Club placed this tribute to the club member on their website following the death, promising that a "full appreciation" of the player's contribution to the club would follow.
"It is with great shock and sadness that the club announces the death of club member, player, coach Davy Rainey during the 3rdXVs game with Cooke. Davy suffered a massive heart attack on the pitch and could not be revived. All our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Pat and family."
Youth training on Monday December 5 was cancelled as a mark of respect.

Lottery funding for sport tops £50m

Paddy Jackson's And Stuart Olding's Contracts Revoked
The contracts of Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding have been revoked with "immediate effect" by the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) and Ulster Rugby. Last month, the two rugby players were unanimously acquitted of raping a woman at a house in south Belfast in June 2016.
