Police seek two armed robbers in Portadown
Police have appealed for information relating to an armed robbery at a frozen foods outlet at Meadow Lane in Portadown at around 5pm yesterday evening.
Two men who entered the store, one armed with a knife and the other with a handgun, threatened two female members of staff.
The man armed with the knife remained at the door, while the man with the handgun entered the shop and demanded cash. They left with a sum of money in a grey Toyota Corolla car, which was later found abandoned in the Garvaghy Road area of the town.
The man carrying the handgun has been described as being in his 40's, clean-shaven and with a wrinkly face. He is also believed to have white or grey coloured hair, which could be seen under the black monkey-type hat he was wearing and spoke with a local accent.
He was also wearing a white jacket, dark coloured tracksuit bottoms which had white stripes up the side of each leg, white trainers and gloves.
The man who was carrying the knife was described as wearing a dark top with white lettering on the chest, blue jeans, trainers and a black hat.
Police in Lurgan are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or spotted the car, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or 0800 555 111.
