Water Service creates 180 jobs in Belfast
The Water Service has today announced the creation of 180 jobs in their new customer contact centre.
The centre will be based in Belfast and will improve customer service, ensure quicker response times and deal with all billing and account queries.
The centre will be managed by outsourcing and technology company Xansa, following the announcement that Crystal Alliance, the consortium of Xansa and its partners, Echo Managed Services and AMT-Sybex Ltd, have been awarded the seven-year contract starting this month.
The creation of the 180 new jobs will be in addition to the 70 members of staff already employed in this section of the company, and will ensure leading standards of service.
Chief Executive of Northern Ireland Water Service, Katharine Bryan, said: "The Xansa-led consortium has a wealth of experience in the utilities marketplace. Xansa's technology and experience will directly benefit our customers, through a faster response to call outs and a seven day a week locally answered customer service line which will greatly enhance our capabilities and the service we deliver to our customers."
Water Service customers can expect faster responses to enquiries and a continuous improvements in the standards of services provided.
Commenting on the announcement Alistair Cox, Chief Executive, Xansa said: "I am delighted that Xansa and its consortium partners have been selected to supply the customer management services which are such a vital element within the Government's Water Reform strategy."
She continued to say that by locating the customer contact centre to Belfast they will be tapping into a highly skilled and committed workforce that will undoubtedly deliver an exceptional service to customers in NI.
