Teenager sexually assaulted in North Belfast

Police in North Belfast have appealed for information following the sexual assault of a teenager on Sunday morning.

The 17-year-old girl was walking down the Ardoyne Avenue area of the city at around 2.45am, when the attack happened.

The teenager was approached by a man and was taken into an alleyway where the assault took place.

The attacker was described as around 25-years-old and between 5' 7 and 5' 8 inches tall. He is of medium build, with short dark hair, and was wearing a red t-shirt.

Police have asked that anyone who was in the Ardoyne Avenue area at around 2.45am, or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity, is to contact them at the Antrim Road on 0845 600 8000, or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
