Working with the Government to Get People Back to Work
The Government has announced a radical reform of the welfare state aiming to get people off benefits and back into work.
The Green paper aims to end the legacy of benefit dependency and deprivation that has damaged communities across Britain. The government’s goal is to achieve an ambitious 80per cent employment rate for people of working age.
One UK company, Cerco, a leading IT Training and Recruitment provider, has already helped to get thousands of people back in to work. The London and Nantwich based training company is unique because not only do they train people to certificated computer engineer level, they also ensure that those who take the courses find work, with a 98.3 per cent employment success rate through their dedicated recruitment division.
The Cerco IT Training and Recruitment courses provide those with little or no previous IT experience a way into the growing world of IT.
Steven Emden, Managing Director, Cerco: “By taking our training courses, and then placing students in work, many before they have even finished the course, we have been able to transform thousands of people’s lives from ‘apparent hopelessness to the sky’s the limit’.
One of many Cerco’s success stories is that of John Allison, 33, a former supermarket baker and Territorial Army veteran who retrained as an IT support engineer. Temporarily disabled by crippling arthritis and determined to get back into work John found the Cerco four-week Fast Track training course on the Internet, and was advised by his disability officer to write a business case to secure funding for the Cerco course from his local Job Centre. John was successful with his application and five years on John no longer has to rely on £70 a week disability benefit and is now back in full-time employment.
The four-week intensive Fast Track course aims to get people in to work on completion of the course by offering practical hands-on experience. (CD)
