Police launch murder inquiry into Fermanagh baby's death

Police have today revealed that they are launching a murder inquiry following the death of a baby boy in in Irvinestown, County Fermanagh.

It is understood that the infant was found dead last Thursday, however, police have not yet revealed the cause of death.

A woman, believed to be in her 30's, was arrested last night for questioning in connection with the incident.

The investigation team has so far focused on a house in the Spruce Hill area of the town and have asked for anyone who may have been in the area between Monday and Thursday of last week to get in touch so that they can be eliminated from their inquiries.

They would especially like to hear from the driver of a dark blue car, possibly a Ford.

Detectives in Fermanagh have appealed for anyone with any information relating to the incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

No Motive For Larne Murder: PSNI
