Police search properties during Londonderry raids
Police have carried out a number of raids in homes and businesses in Londonderry this morning, in connection with serious organised crime.
It is understood that a total of 18 private houses and commercial properties in the Claudy, Dungiven and Park areas of the city were searched.
During the raids, officers removed a number of cigarettes, controlled substances, financial documents and computers. However, no arrests were made.
It is understood that the searches were part of police investigations into alleged money laundering activity in the area.
Today's search operation came just two-weeks after Police and Gardai joined forces to embark on a similar action in South Armagh and County Louth in the Republic, which resulted in the property of an alleged IRA man having items seized for examination.
