Hoax device sparks security alert Derry
A security alert was sparked in Londonderry this morning following the discovery of a suspicious object, which later proved to be a hoax.
The object was found just before 9am in a car park in Fahan Street, close to the Bogside area of the city.
Army Technical Officers carried out a controlled explosion on the object, and later declared it as a hoax.
The area between Butcher Gate and Rossville Street was sealed off for a time.
Residents were moved into a safe area while the operation was underway.

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.

Security Alert Underway In Belfast
A security alert is currently underway in Belfast. It is understood there have been reports of a suspicious object found in the Tates Avenue area of the city. As a result, the road has been closed between Boucher Road roundabout and Lorne Street. Police and army bomb experts are in attendance at the scene. No other details have been released.

Suspicious Object Found In Co Antrim Declared A Hoax
A suspicious object found in Co Antrim has been declared a hoax. The Mill Road in Newtownabbey has been reopened. Elsewhere, a suspicious object discovered on the Lisburn Road in south Belfast was also declared a hoax. The road reopened at around 4.20am on Wednesday, 13 July. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Residents have returned to their homes after a security alert in L'Derry was declared a hoax. A suspicious object was discovered in the Farm Hill area on Friday, 10 February. Police and army bomb disposal experts attended the scene and declared it a hoax. The area has been re-opened.
