Company offers businesses 'Fluent' statistics
A small, local internet and e-business consultancy is set to create five jobs as it becomes a specialist provider of software solutions that will trade in global markets.
Assisted by Invest NI, Fluent Technology has launched 'Origin', an innovative, web-based decision support software in the UK and Europe. Origin is a user-friendly statistical information management system that allows policy makers, researchers and analysts to store, share and scrutinise data in a straightforward manner that enables them to make stronger and more informed decisions.
It is anticipated that the company will create five new, high-quality jobs by the end of 2006.
David Cordner, Business Development Director of Fluent Technology, says: “We have identified a gap in the market for a data warehousing product specifically tailored to assist both local government and corporate users in making informed decisions.
“Invest NI’s support has allowed us to accelerate product development and employ a dedicated sales and marketing executive to pursue and exploit the substantial global market opportunities. We’re confident that within 12 months we will have achieved our growth projections."
Invest NI’s Director of Creative and Design-based Industries, Donal Durkan, said: “Northern Ireland needs to build up a stock of new businesses that are developing pioneering technology and have global sales potential.
“The team behind Fluent Technology has shown a high level of entrepreneurial skills, the ability to manage risk and the appetite for rapid growth. Invest NI is eager to help the company with marketing and product development to help it achieve its ambitious plans.”

Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.
