Two people die in car crash near Bangor
A man and a woman have been killed in a road traffic incident in County Down at the weekend.
The collision happened on the Ballysallagh Road in Bangor at around 4.30am on Sunday.
Police have confirmed that the car, in which the couple were travelling in, left the road and collided with a tree. The vehicle then burst into flames.
Police and fire crews attended the scene, however both people died from their injuries.
It is not known what caused the crash, but police have said that forensic officers examined the area.
The victim's have not yet been named, and their deaths bring the number of fatalities on Northern Ireland's roads to a total of 30 so far this year.
Meanwhile, two people remain in hospital following a two-car collision on Saturday.
The incident happened at the Sandyknowes roundabout on the M2 motorway. Seven people, including three children were treated in hospital.
Police have confirmed that the pair remain in a stable condition and their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
