Seven arrested after west Belfast raids

Police have arrested seven men in west Belfast as part of an operation to investigate the alleged activity of dissident republicans.

The arrests were made following a raid on a house on the Springfield Road area of the city last night.

Detectives have removed a number of items for forensic examination and it is understood that bomb-making materials were also found during the search.

Seven Arrested In West Belfast Drugs Raid
Seven people have been arrested following a drug raid in west Belfast on Thursday evening, 11 October. Three men and three women, aged in their 40's, and a 17-year-old girl have been arrested on suspicion of a number of drug offences.

Police renew murder appeal
Police have renewed their appeal into the murder of a man in Co Down last month. Andrew Cully, a father of two teenage boys from Greyabbey, was shot up to 10 times as he sat in his parked car in the loyalist West Winds estate in Newtownards on 24 March. Detectives want to speak to anyone who saw Mr Cully sitting in his car prior to the shooting.

Man Charged Over Murder Of Anne O'Neill
A 27-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Anne ONeill. The 51-year-old victim died from her injuries following an incident at a house in the Ardmore Avenue area in Finaghy on Saturday, 21 October. The suspect is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 25 October.

Man Arrested Following Search Of West Belfast House Released
A 42-year-old man who was arrested following the search of a house in west Belfast has been released unconditionally. The man was detained after officers carried out the search of an address in Moyard Crescent on Monday, 07 August. A number of houses were evacuated during the search.

Woman Arrested After Gun Is Found In West Belfast
A woman has been arrested after a suspected gun, ammunition and other items were found in west Belfast. Police were alerted to the property in Magnolia Park in Twin Brook on Sunday. Officers from the army bomb squad removed the items for forensic testing. The woman has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
