Couple tied up during Antrim robbery

A County Antrim couple have been tied up and robbed during an incident last night.

It has been reported that the two intruders broke into the house in the Inishgarry Park in Antrim town at 10.35pm yesterday.

They tied the couple up with tape and left them in their bedroom, before ransacking the house.

The robbers then made off with an undisclosed sum of cash.

The first man is described as being around 6' 3" in height, of a thin build and was wearing a black-coloured balaclava. He is understood to have been armed with a hammer.

The second male is described as being 5' 11" in height and of average build.

Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the attack or have any information in relation to it, to contact them in Antrim on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

High Court freezes County Antrim couple's assets
The Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) has had the assets of a County Antrim Couple frozen by the High Court, in the first property freezing order ever to be issued in Northern Ireland. Darryl Price and Sarah Ward have had an estimated total of around £175,000 frozen, as well as their home in Primrose Gardens in Portrush.

Elderly Couple Escape Injury After House Fire In Co Antrim
An elderly couple have escaped injury following a house fire in Co Antrim. The blaze occurred at a property on the Maghereagh Road at around 10am on Monday, 22 August. Two fire appliances from Antrim station and Ballymena station attended the scene. The man was treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation. Extensive damage was caused to the property.
