Armed robbery in east Belfast
Police in east Belfast have appealed for information following an armed robbery at a chip shop yesterday afternoon.
At around 3.05pm, a man armed with a knife, entered the premises on the Holywood Road and demanded that staff hand over cash.
He made off with an undisclosed sum of money in the direction of the Station Road.
No one was injured during the incident, however staff were left badly shaken by the ordeal.
The robber is said to have been wearing a balaclava, a two-toned grey jacket and blue jeans.
Anyone who may have witnessed the robbery, or who may have any information in relation to it, should contact detectives on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Police in separate robbery appeals
Detectives in west Belfast are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at an off-license on the Springfield Road on Sunday. At around 10.40am two men, one armed with a carving knife, entered the premises and threatened two members of staff.

The roadshow, supported by AXA Insurance and the Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership, aims to educate young drivers about the dangers of irresponsible driving.
