Counterfeit goods seized during police raid

Around £75,000 of counterfeit goods have been recovered by police during a planned search operation in north Belfast yesterday.

During the search of the house in the Ballysillan Road area of the city, officers seized a number of CD and DVD writers and re-writers, along with a number of counterfeit CDs, DVDs and computer games, with an estimated street value of £50,000.

A quantity of replica Formula One clothing, including jackets, overalls and shirts, worth around £25,000, was also seized.

No arrests were made during the raid, and a spokesperson for the PSNI has revealed that a file is being prepared for the Public Prosecution Service.

Counterfeit DVDs found during police searches
Police in north Belfast have recovered a number of counterfeit goods following a search yesterday morning. It is understood that officers seized around 2,500 counterfeit DVDs during a raid in a house in the Glencairn area of the city. A police spokesman said that that the DVDs would have an estimated street value of around £50,000.

Three Arrested in L'Derry For Drug Offences
Police in L'Derry have arrested three people and seized drugs worth an estimated £600. The arrests were made following a proactive policing operation in the city. On Monday, 18 November, officers observed suspicious behaviour from a 39-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman in the Strand Road area.
