Teenager dies in road smash

A 17-year-old boy has died in a road crash in County Antrim.

The incident happened on the Saintfield Road at around 9.20pm yesterday evening.

A second teenager who was also involved in the collision is still being treated in hospital for his injuries.

Police in Lisburn have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on 0800 555 111.

So far this year, 57 people have been killed on Northern Ireland's roads.

Two People Arrested In 'Rico' Murder Case
Two people have been detained as the police continue investigating the murder of a west Belfast man. Officers have arrested a 30-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man in connection with the death of Gerard Reid, known locally as 'Rico', who was found dead in a flat in Ardmonagh Parade, Turf Lodge, on Thursday morning.
