Man remanded over explosives find

A 23-year-old man has appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court charged with possessing explosives with intent to endanger life.

Jackie Johnston, with an address at Dismas House Hostel on the Ormeau Road, was also charged with possessing ammunition with intent.

The charges are connected to an incident on Friday evening, when a pipe-bomb and ammunition was found in an alleyway in Knockbreda Park in the Rosetta area of south Belfast.

Johnston was remanded in custody and will reappear in court next month via videolink.

The blast bomb device was made safe after it was discovered during a police search in Woodview Park on Saturday 30 November. A 20 year-old woman and a 21 year-old man have been charged to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court tomorrow, Monday 02 December.

Man Charged After £350k Of Cocaine Seized In Belfast
A man has been charged with possession of a class A drug after cocaine worth a street value of £350,000 was seized in east Belfast on Saturday, 22 May. The 56-year-old is charged with possession of a class A drug with intent to supply, possessing criminal property and concealing criminal property.
