Man attacked in County Tyrone
Police in County Tyrone have appealed for information following an assault in Cookstown on Monday afternoon.
The incident happened at around lunchtime, when a man was assaulted as he left a bakery in the James Street area of the town.
The victim had just reached the traffic lights at the Molesworth Street junction, when he was approached from behind by his attacker.
The man placed his fist into the victims back and warned him not to turn around.
As he attempted to turn around, the attacker struck him on the face, then made off on foot, in the direction of Union Street.
The assailant is described as being around 5'10 in height, of slim build, and was wearing a grey hooded top, which was pulled over his head, jeans and trainers.
It is understood that the town was busy at the time of the attack, and detectives have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have any information in relation to it, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

A man, aged in his 30s, has been injured after being attacked in Dungiven, Co L'Derry. The assault happened in the Main Street area in the early hours of Sunday morning, 15 October. An 18-year-old has been arrested and has been detained in police custody. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Police have launched an investigation after a man was hit on the back of his head with a glass bottle in Lisburn. The incident happened in the Sloan and Young Street area at around 2.45am on Sunday, 16 October. The condition of the victim is unknown.
