Police appeal for information on shooting
Police in south Belfast have appealed for information following a paramilitary style attack on a man in the Donegall Pass area of the city on August 3.
The victim, a 24-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his calf, after being approached by four men who pulled up alongside him in a maroon coloured Ford Mondeo car, at around 8.40pm.
They then made off in the direction of Tate's Avenue.
The victim was taken to hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries.
Three of the attackers are described as being around 5' 7" in height and of slim build.
One was wearing navy coloured tracksuit bottoms and a navy top, another is said to be wearing a navy coloured tracksuit and a sky blue top, and a third is believed to have been wearing a light blue Fred Perry shirt and black baseball cap.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have any information in relation to he attack, should contact police in south Belfast on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Number of people wearing seatbelts increases
The number of people wearing seat belts in Northern Ireland has increased over the past year, figures have revealed. According to the yearly survey commissioned by the DoE, 91% of drivers and 90% of passengers were recorded as wearing a seat belt for the year April 2003-04, an increase of 1%.
