Delivery man robbed in Newry

Police in Newry have appealed for information following the robbery of a delivery man yesterday morning.

Shortly after 11.10am, the man was making a delivery to the Mill Street area of the city, when he was approached by two males.

The men pushed the victim to the ground and stole six parcels from his van, before making off on foot, in the direction of North Street.

One of the men is described as being around 38-years-old, over 6 feet tall, of slim build and with dirty fair hair.

His accomplice is said to be around 33-years-old and around 5'8 in height.

Both men were wearing black tracksuit tops, jeans and trainers.

Man accused of sword attack released on bail
A man accused of attempting to murder two men in Newry with a samurai sword has been released on bail. Mark McNulty, 22, of Canal Street in Newry, was accused of stabbing the two men with a sword, as well as threatening to kill a third man, during the alleged incident in the Co Down city last month.

Four Men Arrested Over Explosive Device In West Belfast Released
Four men arrested in connection with an explosive device in west Belfast last year have been released from custody. The device was found in the Pantridge Road area on 30 October. Three men arrested under the Terrorism Act have been released unconditionally.
