DPP appointments announced
The names of more than 200 people who will serve on the community-based District Policing Partnerships (DPPs) have been released.
The appointments, which followed an extensive public recruitment campaign, aim to give accountability to local policing.
The 207 independent members - 108 Catholics and 99 non-Catholics – will include the chief executive of the Orange Order, George Patton.
Each local authority is set to have a District Policing Partnership with the partnerships expected to hold their first meetings in April.
In the appointment process, the Policing Board was required to ensure the demographics of each council area were reflected in its final appointments.
