Attempted abduction of child in County Antrim
Police in County Antrim have appealed for information after the attempted abduction of a child yesterday afternoon.
The incident happened at around 3pm yesterday, when a six-year-old boy was approached by a man on the Drumbear Road area of Cloughmills.
The man who was driving a red coloured Peugeot car, pulled up alongside the boy and offered him sweets and a lift.
The child's aunt was walking a few paces behind the boy, and when the driver realised this, he drove off.
Approximately ten minutes later, the car drove past the child again in the direction of Cloughmills.
The man is described as being around 50-years-old, with short grey and is said to have been wearing silver glasses and a light blue coloured t-shirt.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or know the identity of the driver, should contact police on 0845 600 8000 or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

According to recent research more needs to be done to get children in Northern Ireland out of Poverty, with the British Government being blamed for the elimination target slipping. The charity Barnardos has revealed that two areas in Northern Ireland have two of the highest rates of child poverty in the UK.

Man Extradited From US Over Historical Child Sex Abuse
A 68-year-old man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for a series of indecent assaults on a child in the 1970s. Damien Desmond Anderson, originally from L'Derry, was extradited from the US to face justice. He was convicted of 12 counts of indecent assault against a female who was 11 years old at the time of the abuse.
