Searches resume at River Lagan
Searches of the River Lagan are set to resume today, following reports of a man being seen in the water over the weekend.
Police were alerted to the incident at around 4pm on Saturday afternoon, after receiving a report from a member of the public claiming that they had seen a man, dressed in dark coloured clothing and with a backpack, in the river close to the Queen's Bridge area of south Belfast.
Police divers and helicopters attended the scene, however no one was found.
Approximately one hour later, a man matching the description, was reported to have been sighted emerging from the Belfast Lough at Whitehead and making his way by foot in the direction of Newtownabbey.
Police have appealed for anyone who may be missing a family member or friend, or anyone who believes that they may have seen anyone matching the man's description in the area of Lagan Weir or Whitehead at the weekend, to contact them on: 0845 600 8000 or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on: 0800 555 111.

Appeal For Information After Man Seen With A Firearm
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following reports of a man seen brandishing a suspected firearm in the Falls Road area on the morning of Saturday 18th May. At approximately 8.15am, it was reported that a man had been seen with what was believed to have been a handgun in the vicinity of the Cullingtree Road.

Series Of Reports Of Break-Ins And Thefts In West Belfast
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following reports of a number of offences including burglary, attempted theft and vehicle interference in west Belfast on Tuesday 9th January. At approximately 5.30am it was reported to police that access had been gained to a shed at a property in Slemish Way.

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of endangering an aircraft in north Belfast. A 19-year-old man pointed a laser at a police helicopter on Thursday, 05 October. A PSNI spokesperson said: "Not only is this type of behaviour an offence, but it is also highly irresponsible and dangerous.

Man Arrested In Connection With Dromara Assault
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a report of an assault at licenced premises at the Rathfriland Road area of Dromara. Detective Inspector Bell said: "Shortly before 10:10pm on Friday 15th December, it was reported that an altercation occurred at a bar in the area following three men refused entry to the premises.
