Attempted murder charge in Haddock case is dropped
The man accused of the attempted murder of former UVF leader Mark Haddock has today walked free from a Belfast court after the charges against him were dropped.
Ronald Bowe, 29, from Mount Vernon Gardens, north Belfast had been in police custody since June this year after Mr Haddock was shot six times during an attack in the Mossley area of the Doagh Road on Tuesday May 13 2006.
At the time of the shooting, Mr Haddock was on bail facing a charge of attempted murder of nightclub doorman Trevor Gowdy in Monkstown in December 2002.
Earlier this week, Mr Haddock was given a 10-year-jail term for plotting the attack against the bouncer.
Mr Bowes' co-accused Darren Moore, 36, also from the Mount Vernon area was remanded in custody for one week, howeverhe is expected to apply for bail at the High Court.

Second man remanded over loyalist shooting
A second man has today been charged with the attempted murder of leading loyalist Mark Haddock last Tuesday. Ronald Trevor Bowe, 29, and from Mount Vernon Gardens has also been reported to the Public Prosecution Service for alleged membership of the UVF. Mr Bowe replied "not guilty" when the charge was put to him today at Belfast Magistrates Court.

Two arrested over Haddock gun attack
Two men have been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of leading loyalist paramilitary Mark Haddock. Police have confirmed that one man was arrested earlier this morning, with the second being taken into custody this afternoon. Both men are helping police with their inquires while a search operation is ongoing.

Attempted Carjacking In West Belfast
Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in west Belfast on Tuesday, November 19th. At around 5:30pm, a man entered a parked car at Hillhead Court and attempted to steal it. A woman passenger was assaulted when she resisted the man's demands. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing all black, fled the scene on foot.

Judge revokes shot loyalist's bail
A leading loyalist, who was shot six times last month, has been ordered to return to prison after he is released from hospital. The judge at Belfast's Crown Court, today revoked Mark Haddock's bail, saying that when he was shot, he had made a "deliberate, significant and, flagrant breach of his bail conditions.
