Police revisit scene of fatal hit and run incident

Police investigating a fatal hit and run incident in County Antrim on Boxing Day are to revisit the scene.

The incident happened on the Randalstown Road area of Antrim at around 3.15pm on the afternoon of December 26, when 58-year old cyclist Seamus Graffin from Oriel Road in the town died after being involved in a collision with a white Audi.

The car was later found abandoned near the Ballygrooby roundabout.

Sgt Phil McCullagh said: "We hope the reconstruction will jog people's memory to gain further information on the collision and bring forward potential witnesses. We are keen to speak to the occupants of a car or anyone who may have witnessed this vehicle in the area on Boxing Day. We are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help us with our inquiries. Another death on our roads is a tragedy and we need to piece together essential information to understand what happened."

Four men were arrested in connection with the incident, however three have since been released without charge, while one has been released pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information should contact police in Antrim on 0845 600 8000 or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
