Invest NI Announces Newry Investment By Teleperformance
Around 450 new jobs are to be created in County Down, with the opening of a new call centre, it has today emerged.
Teleperformance, which is one of the world’s leading providers of intelligent contact centre and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) solutions, is to open a new centre in Newry, where the new employees will be based.
Invest NI, is to invest a £6.5 million into the new centre, which will see Teleperformance develop a new 23,000 square feet contact centre, which will deal with new business arising from several major new contracts.
Teleperformance already has a 700 seat contact centre in Bangor, County Down, and this latest investment will almost double their capacity.
Leslie Morrison, Chief Executive of Invest NI said: “This is a positive step for the contact centre sector in Northern Ireland as it demonstrates the strength of the sector and the value it brings to the local economy.
“Teleperformance has, for the past 10 years, made a valuable contribution to Northern Ireland. The development of a second centre in Newry will clearly help to reinforce the company’s position locally, while building Teleperformance’s global presence.”
Jeff Smith, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Teleperformance added: “Northern Ireland continues to provide Teleperformance with a quality workforce and an infrastructure that has helped to support the rapid growth of our company since our first centre was established in Bangor, County Down in 1997.
“With that site nearing capacity and with a number of new contracts to service, the Newry centre will ensure we continue to be able to deliver high levels of customer service to our growing client base, whilst in addition providing the necessary flexibility to take advantage of future opportunities in the marketplace. As the world’s leading provider of outsourced contact centre services we at Teleperformance are delighted to yet further increase our presence and commitment to Northern Ireland.”
The new centre is due to be opened by 2010.

FEXCO Jobs Announcement Welcomed
Fine Gael Kerry TD, Brendan Griffin, has welcomed the news that the Kerry-based company FEXCO is to create 25 new jobs at its facility in Caherciveen. The company made the announcement after it secured a new contract from Aer Lingus to provide call centre services to the airline.

Northern Ireland has been chosen as the location for a state-of-the-art contact centre, creating around 120 new jobs. Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster and Employment and Learning Minister, Dr Stephen Farry today announced the major investment by BT which is being supported by Invest Northern Ireland through funding of £568,000 under its Jobs Fund.

More than 100 jobs are to be created at a new Connected Health training centre, which has been officially opened on Boucher Road, Belfast,by Health Minister Simon Hamilton. The 120 full and part time jobs will be in the Belfast, Lisburn, and North Down areas and will be implemented over the next 12 months.
